The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED)
The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a national-level entrance exam conducted annually by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay. It serves as a gateway for admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programs at premier institutes across India.

UCEED scores are accepted by the following institutes for their B.Des programs:
- IIT Bombay
- IIT Delhi
- IIT Guwahati
- IIT Hyderabad
- IIT Roorkee
- IIITDM Jabalpur
Eligibility Criteria:
To appear for UCEED, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Age Limit:
- OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL Category: Born on or after October 1, 2000.
- SC/ST/PwD Category: Born on or after October 1, 1995.
- Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2024, or be appearing in 2025, in any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts & Humanities).
- Number of Attempts:
- A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years.
Exam Structure
Exam Structure:
UCEED is a three-hour examination comprising two parts:
- Part A: Computer-based test assessing:
- Visualization and Spatial Ability
- Observation and Design Sensitivity
- Environmental and Social Awareness
- Analytical and Logical Reasoning
- Language and Creativity
- Part B: Pen-and-paper test evaluating drawing skills.
Registration Process
Candidates can register for UCEED through the official website during the specified registration period. The process involves filling out an online application form, uploading necessary documents, and paying the application fee.
Important Dates for UCEED 2025
- Registration Start Date: October 1, 2024
- Registration End Date (with regular fee): October 31, 2024
- Registration End Date (with late fee): November 18, 2024, 5:00 PM
- Admit Card Release: January 3, 2025
- Exam Date: January 19, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
- Result Declaration: March 7, 2025
